Hey whats up everyone! Every thing is going super good, and the film is on its way to completion. We need to throw a little more footage that we got in, and were all set. We are so proud of ourselves and how it has come together. From the Song to the process of shooting the B-roll.
Right now we are in the process of mastering the film, and doing some last minute editing.
We also had the Urban Arts Youth Festival yesterday. We showed our film and got some real good feedback. We plan on using the advice and critisism.
We want everyone to show up to the Rooftop Legends Show this sunday. There will be a screening, There will be food, Music and live art. Stop by and enjoy the vibe ! Dont forget !

Young Legendz (Team blog # 4)
Hey, wassup ? This week for our film, we had to record our own song due to copy right. I found a instrumental online for free , and wrote my own lyrics. To my surprise the song came out very well !
I recorded it in one about 2 hours, editing some parts here and there. In the end , i got my song , "It's a form of expression".
The process wasn't very hard, it was just hard to find the time to record. But I made it work, found a free instrumental online and got to work. I wrote the lyrics in about 4 days, writing small portions here and there. My partners gave me good criticism and it made me realize that my work paid off.
Take a listen and let me know what you think! Form of Expression. We'll see you soon. The film is coming together great, and expect the final project at the end of the year ! Don't forget to come to the Rooftop Legends annual graffiti show.

what we need done (Team blog #3)
Our group needs some things done in order to have our project done in time. We need a lot of B-roll footage, interviews, and to start getting our film put together. This of course takes time and work. Most importantly we need to plan everything out. Lets brake it down.
We need to get better B-roll footage of the roof. I'm talking about different angles and all. Then some footage of an artist in the process of doing a piece. Some footage of the busy streets outside, & students walking the halls would be great too. We then need a interview with Jesse with a full list of questions that would make our film interesting and appealing. Then we need a interview with a artist, maybe Scott, & some students. Just to get their opinons and remarks about the roof. We then need to do some intense editing and revising to make sure our film is on point.
I think we can achieve this if we all put in the work that is needed. It's really all about timing and planning. It's a lot of work, but in the end when the films all done and ready to go, its all going to be worth it. Lookout for our film coming soon. If you want to find out any new info or what we are up click here. Young Legends, See you at the end of the year!

The Road Forward
My group's project is making very good progress. We finished our trailer and we are very pleased with the outcome. We are confident that the full movie at the end of the year is going to be a success. We had to shoot a'lot of roof footage, and put in a glimpse of the interview with Jesse. We also shot footage around the building. We are proud of the footage we have and everything that is coming out of this.
For the 3rd semester, we should have a full interview with jesse. We need him to answer all the questions that we have not asked him. We also need to film a artist in the process of doing a graffiti piece so the people could see how it goes down. We also would like to interview a artist who does a piece on the rooftop. We would also love to film the gathering that happens every year towards the end of the year. It would really show our message and close our film very well.
In order for everything to work out good, we need a'lot of organization, teamwork, and dedication. We just have to make sure everything gets done when it needs to be, and we get everything we need.
We also need to make sure all the editing is perfect. We want the same mood through out the film. As long as we do all of that, we should be set.

Tried by 12 theme song (Team blog #2)
Today I bring you the main song for our film. It's called Tried by 12 by The East Flatbush Project. It's gives a cool , chill vibe to the film and it's exactly what type of vibe we want. The beat and flow is just classic, and if you'er into old school hip - hop then you cant deny that.
The song contains some profanity, and we dont want to give a negative image because our film will show the positive side of Graffiti art. So our team is adding a little twist to it. We're going to record our own version of the song, with graffiti related lyrics, just to add that little spice. Isn't cool to have a film with a song that you created ?
I will record at the Peapod Academy, where students can record songs. Let's see how this turns out. You can check the song out when the film is done. You wont be disappointed! See you guys later !

Cope 2 (Team blog #1)
On the Rooftop Legends, there are many famous, & well known graffiti artists. One of the artists is Bronx graffiti legend Cope2. Let me give you some background on him.
Cope2 has been active for over 20 years. Cope2 started back in the late 80's , and is still going strong. He turned his activity into a career. I find this so cool, because he turned a hobby into a profession. He now has his graffiti on Adidas products, & even found in the Grand Theft Auto IV game. Pretty cool!
This is just one of the many graffiti artists on the Rooftop that we're going to feature in our film. Click the video up top, this will give you some background of Cope 2, when he started, and his current state. You can get your own opinion and feel about the graffiti artist. Ans last but not least, some video fo him in action.

Blog post # 4 : Style Wars
Style Wars is a video wich tells the story, and evolution of the Hip-Hop & Graffiti art. It shows where it originated, and the purpose behind the whole movement. It documents a few kids who lived in the South Bronx. These teens varied from graffiti writer "kase 2", "Seen", "Skeme", and many more. During this period in time this part of the Bronx was destroyed due to construction of a highway. Kids had no way of expression , and couldn't do nothing recreational either. Thats when it all started. Here is the movie so you can watch it your self. You wont be disappointed ! : Style Wars .
